Do you have a bunch of wine corks that you’ve been saving but have no idea what to actually do with them? Because, same. When I started researching ideas for my 10 Days of Pumpkins project, I found a retailer selling cork pumpkins that looked super simple to make. Break out your corkscrew and create this cute, rustic fall piece that will go with any decor aesthetic.

Wine Cork Pumpkin Tutorial
Materials
- 25 wine corks (Don’t have a collection? You can get a pack of 100 recycled corks)
- Hot glue gun and extra hot glue sticks
- Twine or yarn
Step 1: Lay out your corks
I started off by laying out all of my corks and lining them up by size. You will be lining up the corks in 2 rows of 4, 2 rows of 5, and one row of 6. You can also start to think about organizing them by color (for example, do you want the red wine-stained side of the cork to face the same way?)
Step 2: Hot glue each layer
I started with my bottom layer and hot glued four corks together. Then I did the same with the next row of 5. I repeated the process for the other rows.
Step 3: Stack and glue
Using one of my rows of 4 corks as the base, I placed hot glue on the top of the row and stacked my first row of 5 on top. I waited for this row to dry and then did the same thing, stacking the row of 6 on top of the 5. I then repeated with the row of 5 again, and then finished with the final row of 4 on top.
Step 4: Add the stem
To create a “stem” for my pumpkin, I used some old twine to tie a bow around the top of a smaller cork. I then hot glued the cork standing on top of the final row. Make sure to let the glue dry fully before moving it around.
And now you’re done! If you wanted to spice things up, you could always paint the corks or increase the number of rows to make an even larger pumpkin. Happy crafting!
